Alan Bartlett - 1.6 LS Capri

This is my perfectly standard 1600 LS, pictured at Nurburgring. It is not the fastest Capri by any means (its best time at Santa Pod is 18.1 seconds), but it is very reliable.

It has done three Classic Ford tours - Belgium 2005 (including Nurburgring), Southern Ireland 2006, and Mosel Valley 2007 (including Nurburgring), all without any problems, although the brakes do glow a bit after a lap of Nurburgring!

I have resisted the temptation to modify the car and kept the 1600 engine and four speed gearbox, even though this means sustained periods of high revs on the tours. The only minor mods are a fuel cat (I got fed up s*ding about with messy additives and did not want to convert the head while everything is behaving so well), a Mutant USB radio (who wants to b*gger about with old fashioned things like CDs?), a TomTom satnav and a loud air horn.
