Kareena Holland

MkII Capri

Hi, I'm Kareena the long suffering wife of the Bullock. Winner of the Ladies Capri Hard Core, at the Capri summer camp 2001. I am the proud owner of a MkII Capri nicknamed Arthur. It started life as a 2ltr GL which we purchased from the grandson of the old gentleman that owned the car, after he could no longer drive the car and had to retire to an rest home. The grandson was sad to see the car go as he remembered trips to the seaside in the car as a young child. I have had the car now for 6 years and not a year has past without a modification taking place. With the help of many of the club members and The Bullock (Hubby) the car has transformed into a Capri girl racers dream. The first change was the wheels when Nigel (long standing club member) upgraded his 13" 7 spoke RS wheels to 15" brooklands wheels Arthur soon had a lovely set of new wheels and tyres at a bargain price. Now in my mind all cars should be fitted with power steering. So it did not take long for me to, using my womanly powers of suggestion to get the Hubby to carry out further upgrades. So now the car has been transformed to complete 2.8i running gear. Brakes and suspension , engine (not injection but carbed), 5 speed gearbox, power steering, twin Ashley exhaust, Wheel change again 15" brooklands, Alloy strut brace, Ghia boot carpets, Brooklands full leather interior, new leather Ghia steering wheel, Webasto sunroof, the list goes on and no doubt will carry on growing. I also own a 1966 Mk1 short wheel based Ford Transit Campervan. And this has also started going down the same road as the Capri new bigger engine, 5 speed gearbox, etc. Many of the parts required to keep the van on the road are a lot harder to source than the Capri's, so parts from other Fords have had to be used. As we have a good supply of Capri bits about the place, they have found there way on to the Van. The Engine is a 2ltr V4 from a Capri which has a higher compression than the transit V4s. Gearbox from a 2ltr Lazer Capri with a Capri Club quick shift, seats 2.8i shark grey recaro's, Capri sun visors, Capri rear view mirror, and even mk3 Capri lower dash panels. The van is used both at car shows and small breaks away.
I'm a lucky Girl.
