I’ve got to say this is a very clever idea. To summarise, the reCAPTCHA replaces a standard CAPTCHA box. If you don’t know what CAPTCHA is, wikipedia has a good description.In this case, the user is presented with two words to type in the box. One is know to the system and the other comes from a error in using OCR on an old book. So at the same time as protecting your site from spam, you can also help digitise old books.
Simply clever.
NHL’s opening games were held at the O2 in London this weekend and I managed to score some last minute tickets on eBay. I do enjoy ice hockey and it was great to see the Ducks and the Kings in action on Sunday night. Judging by the amount of people there it’s something that is sorely missed by the fans here in the UK and Europe.
You Americans and Canadians have got it great. Game after game of great hockey to choose from. I only hope that this weekend is a sign that we want more! Let’s get more games here and maybe even get the London team running again. Who’s with me!!!
